A 5-minute Earlyvillage leadership reset

Director Weekly Reflection

Take a few minutes at the end of the week to step back from the pace of the centre and decide what deserves your attention next.

Notice the week. Learn from it. Choose what matters next.

Did you have a priority from last week?
1What went well this week?

Consider progress, something the team handled well, a positive moment with children or families, or something that felt more settled than before.

2What kept coming up this week?

Consider challenges, interruptions, frustrations, or recurring situations that may be pointing to a pattern rather than a one-time event.

3What did I learn about the people and program this week?

Consider what you noticed about children, educators, families, team dynamics, classroom practice, or the overall experience of the program.

4What needs my leadership attention now?

Focus on the issue, decision, conversation, or system where your involvement could make the greatest difference.

5What can I let go of, delay, or share with someone else?

Consider work that does not need your attention right now or responsibility that could reasonably be delegated or shared.

6What is my priority for next week?

Choose one meaningful focus rather than a list of everything that needs to happen.

7What is the first useful step?

Identify one specific action that will begin moving your priority forward.
